All eyes will be focussing on Wembley Stadium over the Spring Bank Holiday as the English Football League stages its play off finals.
The play finals, aimed at finding the final promotion spot from each of the Football League's three divisions, are staged over the long weekend. The biggest game of the three will be the Championship play off final between Sheffield United and Burnley, which will be played on the Bank Holiday Monday. The last time they played in English football's top tier – the old Football League Division One, was over 30 years ago. Despite never having appeared in the Premier League, Burnley have proved to be a thorn in the sides of several top tier side's in this seasons Cup competitions, disposing of Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal in the Carling Cup. League One and Two Play OffsWhile the Football League Championship final will be the show piece at Wembley, the play off finals for League One and League Two gives the chance for the English game's less fashionable clubs to bask in the media limelight. The League Two play off final, to played on the Saturday afternoon, sees Gillingham take on Shrewsbury Town. The League One play off final takes place 24 hours later, when Millwall, conquerors of fallen giants Leeds United in the semi finals, meet S****horpe United.
